Vacation Part 2
We were lucky to have our hotel right near Grand Central Terminal (built in 1871), a subway mecca, not to mention is a sight for the eyes…
We rode the Staten Island Ferry – a great view of the city & it’s free!
Went to Little Italy where my sister got a cannoli from an Italian bakery.
Isaac in Little Italy with yummy strawberry gelato.
Saw the Statue of Liberty.
The coolest water taxi that takes Ikea customers from Manhattan to New Jersey to visit Ikea.
Other fun memories:
- Visiting Times Square
- Seeing Ground Zero
- Riding the subway around the city
- Seeing squirrels in practically all the parks we went to
More to come…

Vacation Part 1
We had such an amazing time on our trip – we went with my family on a Caribbean cruise to celebrate my sisters high school graduation. The cruise left out of New York, so we stayed a couple days there to see the sights…
On the plane headed to JFK.
Here’s our hotel room. My sweet dad found a great deal on this super nice hotel in the heart of the city from priceline.com.
The New York Public Library, such pretty architecture & the cutest park right next to it, Bryant Park a perfect place to read a book.
A rest stop at Starbucks while the boys figure out our next destination!
Many more photos to come, stay tuned!

Home
We all arrived home safe & sound from our amazing vacation last night! I’ll be sure to post photos & stories throughout the week. Now I’m catching up on laundry, grocery shopping, mail, email & hitting the gym to start loosing the pounds from my average of 5-6 meals a day I was so accustomed to on the cruise!
Soaking up the sun, sand & clear water in Grand Turk.

Thankful for…
- My wonderful hubby, he is such a undeserved blessing in my life.
- Salvation-didn’t do anything to earn it, nor can I do anything to loose it.
- Haircuts, it’s amazing how good you feel after a good haircut!
- Monsoon season, it’s the best time of year.
- Wildflowers… they are so pretty & so free!
A few of my favorite things…
Every once in a while I’ll post some of my favorite things; things around the house, tried & true products I love & hope you will too! Here’s a couple to start…
These cute glass jars were a birthday gift to me from my mother in law. They are awesome for storing raw sugar & fresh nutmeg!
One of my favorite products, this face moisturizer is fantastic. It’s super light, all organic, & smells like orange blossoms! Try it, I know you’ll love it!
This game is a favorite at my house! We play it all the time when we have guests over. It’s a fast paced game that’s sure to be a favorite at your home too!
I subscribed to this magazine about 6 months ago & totally love it! The recipes are fresh, quick, simple, healthy & really creative. Plus the magazine is so compact you can take it right to the grocery store!
*Magazine subscriptions make a great gift, very affordable & it’s like getting a little present every month!*

Being Green
The green ‘fad’ is in full force all over the country, at our place we’re trying to do our part – reusing glass jars! Here’s a couple examples:
- A used spaghetti jar becomes a place to store loose change.
- An old jam jar is perfect for storing cotton balls.
- A sun dried tomato jar houses morning coffee instruments.
- An iced tea jar becomes a great water cup!
Share any ideas you have too! I’d love to see!
