I’m trying to clean my whole house with safe natural products. If it says, ‘contact poison control if…blah blah blah’ I try not to use it. Buying natural cleaning products can be expensive, so I did some research & now make my own, check it out!

All purpose cleaner

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 t natural liquid dish soap

Mix ingredients in spray bottle. I use this to clean everything from my counter tops, windows, spot cleaning, etc.

Toliet bowl cleaner

  • baking soda
  • vinegar

Sprinkle baking soda in bowl, followed by pouring in a little vinegar. (watch it fizz!). Scrub with brush & flush.

Soft Scrub

  • 1/8 cup baking soda
  • 1-3 t natural liquid soap

Add enough soap to the baking soda to make a paste. Apply to sponge to clean, rinse surface well.

Oven cleaner

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • water

Sprinkle oven with baking soda & spray with water. Let sit a couple hours or overnight before scraping up stains & spills. Rinse with water.

Floor cleaner (wood, tile, or linoleum)

  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 gallon warm water

Mop floors, then rinse with water.

Carpet Stains

  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup borax
  • 1/4 cup vinegar

Rub paste on stain & leave for a few hours. Vacuum over area.

Furniture Polish

  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

Mix in spray bottle. Use flannel rag for this polish.

Rust Remover

Sprinkle salt on rust & squeeze a lime over salt until soaked. Leave for 2-3 hours. Use rind to scrub residue.

Hope these recipes help make your home a little safer & save you some $.
