Ok, I’m not going to lie, these we’re that spicy. I mean by reading that recipe title you’d think they had a cup of fire in them or something. Don’t be fooled… we thought they were kinda sweet tasting, since there is sugar along with all the spices.

Grilling is kinda a big ordeal for us, since we live in an apartment without a balcony. Our complex has a public grill, which is a blessing, but every time we want to grill we have to pack for it. We walk down three flights of stairs, carrying our items to be grilled, our tongs, a plate, knife, spices, paper towel, cell phone, keys, something to occupy us while we’re down there waiting for the grill to heat & our food to cook (i.e. a book, old game boy, magazine, etc). To top it off since there’s only 1 grill and like hundreds of tenants sharing the grill is the name of the game. Most of the time I stay behind to finish the rest of our dinner on the stove or in the oven, trying desperately to time it all perfect. Awh all that to bring you this grilled recipe…

Flamin’ Inferno Chicken Drumsticks

  • 2 lbs chicken drumsticks
  • 3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 T bottled hot sauce (such as Franks)
  • 1 T chili powder
  • 1 T onion powder
  • 1 T garlic powder
  • 1/2 T cayenne pepper

Preheat grill to medium high. Combine vinegar, sugar, pepper sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper to make hot sauce, mix well. Set aside 3/4 cup or so to serve as a dipping sauce, use remaining for basting. Place chicken on grill, basting often, every 5 minutes, until chicken is cooked through. Serve with reserved hot sauce.
